Slim Ps2 Only Reads Dvd but Not Game

There's utilities to convert the relieve files if you google effectually a flake. I guess it's not super easy or quick considering you demand a modded PS2 merely they're easy enough to mod equally long as you wait for the swap tiptop or swap bill of fare (for older PS2s) to come up. |

Trying to boot FF12 off of DVD but the emulator freezes before anything loads. |
Id make an iso |
Yeah just rip your games into an .ISO, its much faster. |
Thanks, one8kevin. Tourist Trophy isn't loftier on the compatibility list, and then I think I'll exist playing on my PS2 Slim a lilliputian longer. |
When this thread started I thought a new version had come out.. I've been on 0.9.vii.3113 for a while.. It looks likee there is a newer beta build of 0.ix.7 though. Get this matter to emulate Stand up Alone Complex acceptably and I'll exist in bliss. I just cannot bargain with 480p from the PS2 itself on a 42" HDTV. |
I take a core i5 450m, 4GB of ram, and a geforce 310m. is that enough? |
You should attempt it and let us know! |

I wish FF Tactics: War of the Lions was ported to PS2, so that I could then emulate it on 1080p and use R2 as a fast forward button. That was the ane weakness I constitute with the PSP version, and it's weird that Japanese developers even now withal accept unskippable sequences. The Disgaea serial is cool for quick combat, though. I have Ico and SotC, but I'm gonna await for the Hd pack and play on the PS3 instead of messing with this. Otherwise I've been emulating quondam PS2 games at high res and was satisfied in the past. Goose egg screaming at me correct now to get me to reinstall everything. |
2 hours and nothing merely frusturation. I can get .96 to kicking FF12 only .97 volition not. .96 recognizes my gamepad but will non Salvage my configuration and requires me to "reconfigure" every time I turn the program back on. .97 just hard locks every single fourth dimension edit: finally can become it running but only WITHOUT audio |
viewtopic.php?f=22&t=1126005 A thread from October where I posted my complete config, which works for most of the (known working) stuff I've thrown at it. My rig is an AMD Phenom Two 3.0Ghz and ATI 5770 and then YMMV (Intel users would want to employ a different GS plugin for extended SSE for example). As noted elsewhere, you probably accept to run the program in admin mode to get it to save your settings. If y'all're using a 360 pad, you might have to use an XInput emulator because I think PCSX is looking for DirectInput devices. |

Thanks Junon - running it in Admin mode is what got .9.7 running without whatsoever audio. Afterwards rebooting my reckoner the audio is running and I am finally going to be able to run through some older PS2 games (like FF12) that I never got around to! I'm running on an AMD X2 245 (2.9Ghz dual core) and a 4770 and everything is working very well. Just got a little while to examination it out only I am very happy with the speed and too the graphics heave - PS2 games take never looked better. I'thousand using an unofficial PS3 USB wired controller I got from ebay for around $10 and it works very well in .9.7 |
is there anyone hither that plays beatmania games with the official konami 7-key controller? I have the original and haven't been able to get that working with the emulator. can someone PM me or something to help? |

It takes some fourth dimension investment to get PCXS2 setup the proper mode. I'chiliad running the latest version of 0.9.vii and with the proper combination of speedhacks, plugins and settings I can run FFXII well enough to exist quite playable for the virtually part. This is on a laptop with a two.66ghz C2D processor and a GeForce 260M GPU. Though truth be told the GPU matters little. A hefty dual core CPU is what you really really need. Using this same setup, I managed to play through all of FFX over again. For my controller I purchased a USB adapter for a Wii Classic Controller Pro and use that. It works extremely well. Also given the low price point of these controllers and the relatively high availability, purchasing a replacement is never a major ordeal. Not that I've had to, just in case the controller finds itself flying through the air ane solar day... meliorate prophylactic that deplorable Anyway PCXS2 is quite impressive. Every version brings noticeable comeback. Since I no longer take a PS2 (I gave mine to my cousin when his died), but nevertheless accept a huge cache of PS2 games, it is user-friendly to be able make utilize of those games. Likewise being able to just rip a PS2 game into an ISO (for which I recommend either imgburn for complimentary or Alcohol 120 for pay) and exist able to tote around a library of them on my laptop is simply fucking crawly. |
I guess I was lucky because for me information technology's run perfectly, with simply the fourth dimension to set the button assignments for my Dual Shock 2, and realizing I had to utilize speedhacks to play God of State of war 2 and Shadow of the Colossus smoothly. My simply setback with Last Fantasy 12 was that it was stuttery at get-go and I could not figure why, spent xv minutes looking for a solution, and information technology turned out I only had to press Shift F4 to disable frame skipping. |
Hells yes! Dragon Quest eight at present runs at full speed. |
Peter_Gozinya wrote: Hells aye! Dragon Quest viii now runs at total speed. How is it? I was looking at screenshots and it reminds me of Chrono Trigger art. How does it compare? |
I'll post the settings I'm using when I get dorsum from work today. Only tested with FFXII, mind. Here's a quick flim-flam: The internal res of the GPU plugin defaults to 1024x1024. Set up this to the native res of your brandish (e.m. 1920x1080) for maximum clarity or ready it to some other res which has the same aspect ratio. Not-foursquare pixels become annoying quickly. So a weaker system can set 1280x720 (16:nine), for instance. |
Mannymal wrote: Peter_Gozinya wrote: Hells yes! Dragon Quest eight at present runs at full speed. How is it? I was looking at screenshots and it reminds me of Chrono Trigger art. How does it compare? Visually its very appealing. Its a more laid dorsum and peaceful blazon of jrpg (its kind of relaxing). Alot of story and alot of grinding. |
I recently played through Dragon Quest eight and would draw it as amazing. I liked everything about it, graphics, gameplay, characters, exploration, and the story. It was a pretty long game also so you can go on on enjoying it for some fourth dimension. |
Then I downloaded the 0.ix.7 version last night and Xenosaga went from not working at all to running at well-nigh 66%-100% averaging at most 85% speed. Played for 30min everything worked, Shion sounds boozer when the frame charge per unit drops. I'm going to actually have to look into properly overclocking my processor this weekend, I take a damn Black Edition and I've but cranked it up .2Ghz, disgraceful. |
That'due south sad |
I spent a couple hours getting all the saves off my ps2. Between incomplete saves in FFX, Disgaea 1&2, and Persona three&4 I figured I saved myself at least 150 hours. Now I guess my goal is to vanquish all these games. I played on my old FFX relieve and was really impressed with how skillful the game looked in 1680x1050. Hopefully my interest will stay high and I'll vanquish it finally. For those interested in salve copying: Spoiler: show The procedure was somewhat complicated, but now that I know wtf I'm doing it wouldn't be bad if I had to do it again. You need a style to copy data from your retentiveness card to a usb stick, which means you lot demand a haxxed ps2 or a cheat deejay (ie Codebreaker). You copy the saves onto a usb disc, and then onto your reckoner. If y'all used a cheat thingy, the saves volition exist in a retardo packaged format, then you'll need to use Ps2 Relieve Architect to extract the relieve files, which you then put in folders named with the id(shown in ps2 save builder) of the save. If yous didn't use a crook thingy so yous are a cool dude and all this work is already done. The hard role is getting the saves onto a pcsx2 virtual memory menu. Since in that location are no usb plugins for pcsx2, yous have to use the cd bulldoze. So put the save folders into an iso (or burn down them to a disk if you're stupid), and then mount the iso, and tell pcsx2'southward cdrom plugin to look at that drive. Go a booter (or use the one you have on your haxxored ps2), and run it from File->Run Elf. If the elf loads but the graphics are broken, then fiddle with your gpu plugin settings and endeavour again. Now copy the files from the cdrom to the memory carte du jour. Now treat yourself to a celebratory plate of bacon, cause yous're done! I followed a guide (which anyone could notice with about 2 seconds of googling), but many of the steps were unecessary and it was written in 2007, for a much older version of pcsx2. |

I tend to exit the internal resolution at native as it's been my experience anything tends to create unsightly lines and odd little graphical issues on 2d card screens in some games. |
How easy is it to setup? [edit] I do still have my blood brother'southward PS2 stuff (including the controllers) around, what kind of USB adapter practice you recommend? I can buy from either Amazon or eBay. |
Unfortunately, they are either idiots or licensing issues prevent them from doing it. Or Both. |
So I tried this last night. Got it running without a hitch, then immediately discovered that I badly need a controller to make whatsoever use of it. So I didn't go to actually play anything, but I was amazed at how well it works. |
Dragonquest eight has to be the summit of ps2 era jrpgs. |
i had no problem running dq8 (at 19x12) a twelvemonth ago on my c2d/3850 setup; performance was great, just at that place was graphical corruption (spikes). i'thousand hoping it volition deport ameliorate on sandybridge/6950 at 25x16. |

I'chiliad using a psx-usb adapter. I fix up the controls on a normal ps2 controller, then plugged in the official Konami 7-key IIDX controller. The game gave me a warning that I wasn't using the right type of controller, but all the controls worked. Presumably this will work with any psx device. Simply set up the controls with a regular ps2 controller, and then yous don't take to worry about figuring out the mapping. Unfortunately the level of lag makes Beatmania frustrating to play. So unless y'all can figure out how to fix that, I don't recommend playing it on PCSX2. |

Jacotus wrote: Has anybody tried these methods to become the DualShock 3 to work and can report on information technology? I apply the motionjoy drivers on Win7 x64. They are annoying to work with and you need to go through a process of force killing the app and and so reloading the driver every fourth dimension you boot or plug in the controller. They basically work, though. I don't think pressure sensitivity on the face buttons/L1/R1/dpad works unless there's some hidden value in directinput that's registering it. |
Jacotus wrote: Has anybody tried these methods to become the DualShock 3 to work and tin report on information technology? Tried both, the libusb method was a horrible mess that didn't effect in a working DS3 for me. By contrast the MotioninJoy drivers piece of work fine, getting them setup is relatively like shooting fish in a barrel. |
Been having a lot of fun with Terminal Fantasy XII. Funny how I ignored a good game so long because I didn't wanna cope with bad graphics. I'yard kinda glad I did now, because information technology looks very proficient and I'chiliad glad I get to practice my commencement playthrough with modernistic graphics. Yet, I play through SNES games similar Concluding Fantasy Iv and Vi almost yearly. I gauge 2D aged ameliorate than pre-FSAA 3D. I'grand gonna swing past the Gamestop to see if I can find Dragon Quest viii, otherwise I'll take to order it online. Hopefully it wont exist as well cute/silly for my tastes. Terminal Fantasy XII has been the but one I've been able to stomach since Final Fantasy VII. |
